HOW TO PLAY
How it Works
The hunt kicks-off May 7th! Weeks 2-4, puzzles will be released each Thursday at noon. Download and print the puzzles by going to www.solvingfun.com/paloalto. You can also visit Mitchell Park or Lucy Stern Palo Alto Community Centers to get a free set printed for you, or use a separate piece of paper and solve from the screen. Previous week's puzzles will be available online through the end of the Puzzle Hunt.
With a group of friends or family, solve the week’s puzzles at your own pace. Each individual puzzle will lead you to a location in Palo Alto where you will find a series of letters. When you get to the location, look for a sign with bold letters on it (sample below). These letters are parts of clues for your final answer. The signs will not be hidden or buried and are on public land within the city of Palo Alto. You will not need to damage anything to find them. Write down the letters you need and leave the signs for future solvers. Put together the letters found at each location and figure out the clue for that week’s final answer. Submit each week's final answer for a chance to win a prize!
For groups who finish all 4 weeks’ puzzles, you can locate the final location by using the final answers from the previous weeks AND complete a set of final puzzles to get there. If you plan to solve the entire hunt, save each week's final answers!
After you’ve solved all 4 weeks of puzzles, there’s one final step. Use the clues you’ve collected and a final puzzle to lead you to your last destination. Submit your final answer for a chance to win the big prize!
The Solving Fun Puzzle Pals and the City of Palo Alto want all of our community members to be safe and have fun. Be mindful of all laws and safety regulations as you explore our city. Clues are posted in visible areas and on public property. If you experience an emergency, call 911.
When you've completed each week's puzzles and figured out the final answer, you can submit them for a drawing for prizes. In order to submit your entry, fill out the form here or print out the final answer sheet and drop it off at a Palo Alto community center. It is free to enter and each week, there will be new winners. One entry per person. All winners will be notified after June 1, 2022.
